Our learning this Term.
Literacy
This term we are talking about Persuasive
Text topics. We will be learning all about the different parts of a persuasive text over the next few weeks.
Persuasive writing presents an argument or point of view. We like to debate at range of topics -
· Title captures your reader’s interest. Eg. Dogs are better than cats.
· Begins
with an opening statement presenting a general viewpoint..
· Firstly,
present “for” argument and reason.
·
Secondly,
“for” argument and reason.
· Finally, “for” argument and reason.
· Then opposite point of view.
· Conclusion summarises main argument and ends with a sentence the audience will remember.
· Use emotive language –
o We strongly believe
o The tragic consequences
o It is vital
· Uses a variety of controlling words and conjunctions.
NumeracyIn Numeracy, addition and subtraction with regrouping to 100 is an extension task that indicates a good understanding of place value.
It is important that children handle money to purchase milk and know what change to expect.
Reading both analogue and digital clocks is an important life skill.
Dancing
The children are having fun and enjoying the dance lessons and looking forward to sharing their achievement and skill development.
Swimming
Please ensure that your child has their uniform, towel and bathers clearly marked. Also try some timed dressing so your child can achieve this skill.
You will be advised that Swimming Time Slots are in week 7 and 8 and 9 and 10. Each class will be advised individually when payment is required. Swimming is part of the physical education programme.
